Have you explored Jigsaw Health yet?

Some of you may have read Natural Heights' post last week thanking Mike Adams and Patrick Sullivan for their feedback on our article. Well, in case you haven't checked out their websites yet, you should really take a look! Patrick Sullivan, president of Jigsaw Health, e-mailed me personally because he saw that I'm a biter (biters rule!)...and Ideal Bite recently featured them in their newsletter. Jigsaw Health is a veritable gold mine of Health & Wellness information. You can even take different self assessment tests to find out where you might have deficiencies in your diet, or if you might have certain chronic health conditions. I took the Magnesium assessment myself, and found out that I'm at low risk for being deficient. However, I do know I will be ordering some of their ground flax seed to supplement my mostly vegan diet :o)

Online or local...what's your take?

One of the recent blog posts on Ideal Bite evolved into a heated discussion of eco-conscious online businesses versus small local businesses. Does one deserve our dollars more than the other? I argued that while it's important to support our local businesses, one cannot totally ignore the opportunity that the Internet and e-commerce provides to small businesses. Small businesses and professionals have the opportunity to provide information and compete with the big box retailers like never before. In fact, the big brands are having a hard time trying to replicate the personal interaction that a small online business can provide through blogs, information, and customer service.

New Products This Week

Right before the Thanksgiving holiday, we received a few new products at the store...all by special request from our customers. Thanks again for the suggestions!

First is a set of much needed products for all the new parents out there - Hyland's Teething Gel and Hyland's Teething Tabs. This homeopathic combination of natural substances relieves the restlessness, peevish whining and irritability. The small 1 grain tablets melt instantly on the tongue and the gel contains no benzocaine, sugar, artificial flavoring, dyes, or coloring agents.

The other new product we received is hopefully the first of many more Alba Hawaiian facial care products, Pineapple Enzyme Face Wash. This gentle enzyme cleanser is well suited to most skin types, especially those ranging from normal and normal to oily, to slightly dry.
